Mobile Minder’s Child Protection App highlighted by Sunday Business Post

Irish startup’s technology for helping to protect young children who have mobile phones, was highlighted by Adrian Weckler in the Sunday Business Post today. The Mobile Minder app, which is free to trial but only costing Eur 5 per month after that, works on the android operating system, but they hope to push this out to other systems in the near future. The company, Associate Mobile, have ambitious plans for apps for other sectors as well as families.

Interestingly a lot of their current sales have been to the US market, where perhaps parents worry more about their children’s use of mobile phones than in Europe. The system alerts parents to their children’s location, and if certain words are used in texts, those that would infer cyber bullying or ‘sexting.’ This system is less ‘big brother’ than others available.
