Why Generate Ideas?

Idea generation is a fundamental part of problem solving and problem solving is what we do day-in day-out in our organisational life.  The ability to generate ideas supports organisations in mundane to complex problems, from incremental process improvements to breaking old mental models and by looking at the same thing as everyone else and thinking something different.

We have to generate ideas because we have to solve problems.  This workshop is an exploration of the influences of idea generation in organisations at an individual, team and firm level. At an individual level the influences of personality and intrinsic motivation are brought to life through exercises and videos.  At a team level group guidelines are presented and creative problem solving techniques are introduced.  At the firm level a measurement of Climate for Creativity is presented covering firm attitudes and practices.
