High Tech and Entrepreneurship blog

Welcome to the main Ryan Academy for Entrepreneurship blog which covers high technology start-ups and entrepreneurship.

The recent ‘Jobs and Growth 2010’ report from the Department of Enterprise, Trade and Employment highlights the fact that ‘New Jobs and New Sectors’ will be key to the rejuvenation of Ireland. The Irish enterprise development agencies’ objectives is to create more than 100,000 new jobs over the next five years. This should also lead to more than 70,000 ancillary jobs in other parts of the economy.

But where will these jobs come from and how does Ireland as a nation get to this point? The Ryan Academy for Entrepreneurship and other organisations such as the Irish Exporters Association and entrepreneurial activities in other colleges such as the Institute for Minority Entrepreneurship in DIT are all focused on this issue.

Our aim in this blog is to highlight the major issues, identify potential sources of new ideas, and publicise stories from Ireland and around the world that will be of interest to entrepreneurs, policy makers, support organisations and intrapreneurs in larger companies.
